If you would like to enjoy a day cooking class or cooking break in the hills between Modena and Bologna, then do get in touch with Country Villa Ca' de Magni. The lessons include home made pasta (tortellini, tagliatelle, lasagne etc.), tigelle and piadine, typical desserts and so on. 

As Villa Ca' de Magni is located in the heart of the zone of traditional balsamic vinegar from Modena you can also expect typical recipes of the region made with the other classic products of the territory such as Parma ham, Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, truffles from the zone of Savigno, cherries and more!

Italian cooking class

One day cooking class to learn how to cook authentic recipes from Bologna. The classes start at 10.30 am and last 3 hours and are aimed at beginners or intermediate level and for groups of 4-8 participants. Themed lessons can also be organized and after the lesson you will enjoy what you have made with local wines. The complete menu of the lessons usually looks like this but could vary depending on the season

• Bruschette with typical products (truffle, parma ham,balsamic vinegar salad)
• Home made pasta: tagliatelle with ham ragu 
• Cotoletta Bolognese
• Crescentine (bread)
• Cherry Tiramisù


Italian Cooking Breaks

This cooking break extends the cooking lesson experience above to feature a visit to the markets of Bologna as well as local wine cantine and local artisans. Accommodation for the 5 days can be your own choice but Micol and family suggest the Bed and Brekfast 'La Buca' just 5 minutes from Country Villa Ca' de Magni. The prices quoted for the cooking break do not include accommodation. A summary of the cooking break is as follows:

Day 1
- arrive at the accomodation after 14:30 and enjoy dinner nearby in the countryside

Day 2
- first cooking class in Country Villa Ca' De Magni at 10am 
- "tagliatelle and tortellini home made pasta and ragù sauce" 
- enjoy your own cooking for lunch, accompanied by wine of the area and a typical dessert
- at 4 pm, visit of Pignoletto wine cellar near Bologna and aperitif 

Day 3
- after breakfast cooking class of "Bolognese cotoletta, crescentine (home made bread), Modena balsamic vinegar and parmesan cheese salad" course 
- lunch of what you have prepared accompanied by wine of the area
- 4 pm visit to Bologna food market and food shops with local guide 

Day 4
- after breakfast cooking lesson of "Tenerina cake and cherries tiramisu" 
- tasting of truffle and Parma ham bruschette followed by lunch accompanied by wine of the area
- 4 pm visit to Bolognese artisans: a goldsmith fascinating atelier and an artisanal print house visits

Day 5
- breakfast and farewell recipe cook book to take home
