This food event is actualy called 'Fritto Misto' and is a window on the whole spectrum of Italian fried gastronomy from many regions.

No greasy burgers here, just 'arancine siciliane', 'batsoà piemontese', fried Abruzzese cheeses, 'baccalà romano', 'fiori di zucca toscani, as well as 'zafarani cruschi calabresi', 'fritolin veneziano' and 'krapfen altoatesini' etc

It all takes place in the historical centre of Ascoli Piceno over the May Holiday period.

Some non Italian fried delicacies do get a look in such as 'scedbakie' from Morocco, Chinese fried ice cream and perhaps even goog old British fish & chips.
