The organizers describe Lambrusco wine as 'fresco, frizzante, sincero, allegro & rosso' and is produced equally well by small family run concerns in the province as well as the larger aziende.
The event is promoted by the Consorzio del Marchio Storico dei Lambruschi Modenesi and Camera di Commercio di Modena in collaboration with the Enoteca Regionale Emilia-Romagna, Consorzio Marchio Storico Lambrusco Reggiano, Provincia di Modena, Comuni di Modena, Carpi, Castelvetro and the Unione Comuni del Sorbara.
The event is not a 'sagra' but a professional meeting open to the public. 45 producers are present and they will be offering the best Lambrusco doc from this year's harvest.
Look out for the 3 'lambruschi doc modenesi' (Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro, Lambrusco Salamino di Santacroce and Lambrusco di Sorbara).
The programme of events includes an exhibition of antique labels, "Pianeta Lambrusco" which is an exhibition demonstrating the production process from the vine to the table, and "Area Incontri" where the wines can be sampled.
