Starting from the room where he was born, not only do you get a first hand feel for the life of the great conductor, but also a sense of a Parmense family from the time of Garibaldi.

Each room has been themed and are named “Parma e Toscanini”, “La sua vita”, “L’immagine del mito”, “I suoi compagni di viaggio” and “Toscanini, il disco e gli altri media”.

Video, interactive displays and original documents and items complete the journey.

Of most interest is perhaps the possibility of discovering Toscanini's rapport with such huge musical figures of the time as Verdi, Wagner and Puccini, through correspondence and gifts.
