Dreaming of the summer and an empty beach, try making this after dinner five fruit liqueur at home.

The recipe has been taken from 'Calabria a Tavola' by Ferretti and Serra.

ingredients

For 1 liter: 2 lemons, 2 oranges, 1 medium sized citron, 2 limes, 4 mandarins, half liter alcohol at 90° proof, half liter water, 300g sugar.

making it

With the sharpest of knives, or even a scalpel, remove the colored parts of the rind of the 5 fruits. Avoid the whites skin inside.

Pour the alcohol into a glass container, which can be air sealed, and then add the rind.

Close well and leave in a dark place for 48 hours. After which filter the liquid to remove the rind.

Boil the water with the sugar to form a syrup. Let it go cold then add the alcohol infusion.

Filter again then pour into a bottle of choice. Place in the kitchen and avoid the temptation to try it before a month is up.

Open in June, but first place it in the freezer to get really cold.
