Piedmont doesn’t mean only red wines: maybe one of the most popular Italian white wines is produced here, too – Gavi.
Cortese is the grape behind the wines of Gavi, and it has produced wines here since the 17th century.
It only covers 1500 hectares of the whole region and is mostly found around the city of Alessandria. Gavi wine can be distinguished by its crisp, floral, peachy, aromatic qualities.
This Tasting Tour tour also ends with a visit to the Serravalle fashion outlet for some shopping.
Meet your tour guide and reach the village of Gavi to visit a local producer of this fresh and clean-tasting white made primarily with the Cortese grapes.
We will then move to the nearby town of Serravalle Scrivia to spend some hours shopping in the Designer Outlet with about 170 shops.
