7 days in Calabria

Day One

Transportation from the airport or train station to the resort. Arrive at your new home, the luxurious 5 star resort in Parghelia. Enjoy a welcome dinner at the resort’s restaurant. Unwind from your journey as you are introduced to the unique flavors of Calabrian cuisine

Day Two

Tour of Tropea tasting local products from many different food vendors in this historical coastal town. Lunch at own leisure. Afternoon drive into the hills and enjoy first cooking lessons with full course evening meal to follow

Day Three

Following breakfast an enjoyable free morning on the beach or at the resort. Afternoon drive towards the town of Pizzo, visiting firstly Piede di Grotta. Arrival in Pizzo to taste the famous local tartufo gelato ice cream. Dinner at own leisure

Day Four

Second cooking afternoon cooking followed by evening meal

Day Five

Depending on the time of year a day’s excursion fishing for sardines, small tuna, and a local Calabrian fish called ‘spatola’. Leave from the port of Tropea or the Marina of Vibo Valentia to head out to sea to the best fishing waters off the coast. Evening free

Day Six

Morning drive to Capo Vaticano to view close up the areas of outstanding natural beauty along the coast. Enjoy an ‘aperitivo’ overlooking the sea. The afternoon cooking lesson will focus on regional Calabrian sweets or dolce, as well as Calabrian versions of pizza called pitta. These are cooked in her old wood burning brick oven. Farewell evening dinner

Day Seven

Following breakfast, transfer back to airport or train station
