The courtyard of the Ducal Palace of Camerino

Camerino is a wonderfully located medieval town set in the green rolling hills of the province of Macerata and is known for one of the oldest universities in Italy.

Situated in the heart of a region where such greats as Raffaello, Bramante and Rossini were born, the immediate territory can boast the finest examples of Gothic painting in Le Marche.

These include the frescoes of the schools of painting of Camerino which paved the way for people like Gentile di Fabriano.

Indeed, the influence of Giovanni Boccato and Girolamo, both from Camerino, led directly to Venetian artists Carlo and Vittore Crivelli adopting new techniques along the Adriatic Coast during the Renaissance.

WEEK ONE

Sunday: Arrival and living arrangements

Monday: 10.00 - Introducing the courses, followed by a placement TEST; 16.00: welcome-cocktail

Tuesday: 9.00 – 13.00: Classes

15.30: a guided tour at the University and around Camerino;

Wednesday: Free Morning

14.00 - 18.00: Classes; 20.00: Dinner at a local restaurant

Thursday: 9.00 – 13.00: Classes; 18.00: an evening at the Medieval Castle (after visiting the castle, a dinner with music)

Friday: 9.00 – 13.00: Classes; 16.00 - 18.00: Italian Culture Lesson

Saturday: FREE - possibility of an optional excursion to Urbino and San Marino
