3 DAY PUGLIA TOUR OUTLINE
ARRIVAL
Collection from airport or railway station and transfer to accommodation, welcome drink, chance to rest, evening dinner in a typical local restaurant.
DAY 1
After breakfast a tour of Gioia del Colle including the castle, museum, ancient churches and the historical centre. Before noon a wine cellar visit with wine tasting session in the vineyards followed by lunch in a “Slow Food” restaurant. Afternoon is devoted to a trip to Matera in nearby Basilicata. Evening is free to go shopping or dine in typical pizzeria.
DAY 2
Departure for the small town of Polignano and guided tour. Lunch in a local restaurant on the stunning city waterfront. Afternoon visit to Alberobello to see the famous 'trulli' close up. The day also includes a visit to an olive oil mill or 'frantoi' to understand the process of extra virgin olive oil production. An olive oil tasting session follows. Evening is free.
DAY 3
Departure for Castel del Monte followed by visit to Trani and guided tour of the historical quarter of the town and along the sea front. Lunch is in a masseria in the countryside followed by return to Conversano for a cooking class. The lesson features preparation of typical Apulian dishes such as taralli, chicory with broad beans and olive oil grilled vegetables. Evening is free to dine or shop.
DAY 4
Transfer to the airport or railway station after breakfast .
