Nights of Light 'Notti di Luce' is an annual event taking place in the city of Bergamo in late August. It is an opportunity to discover the beautiful historical centre of old Bergamo through a festival of lights, music, theatre and poetry.

Nights of Light is an extraordinary occasion to admire Bergamo’s architectural beauty. The festival is promoted and organized by Bergamo and Ticino Canton Chambers of Commerce, Mia – Congregazione della Misericordia Maggiore of Bergamo, the Town Council and Bergamo University.
The protagonist of the celebration is Saint Alexander’s, the city’s patron, whose Saint Day coincides with the two week festival.
Many companies from the technical light sector across Italy are involved many of whom have worked in Broadway theater and in the most important European TV studios.
Bergamo was the birthplace of Caravaggio, Lorenzo Lotto, Torquato Tasso and Gaetano Donizetti and can easily be reached now by the low cost airlines.
The original settlement and ancient suburb of Città Alta or 'Upper City' overlooks the modern lower city.
It synthesizes the history of Bergamo from the Roman period to the Middle Ages passing through the Venetian Dominion up to the XX century.
