The following article has been kindly supplied by Bramafam boutique tour operator based in Saluzzo, Piemonte.

Piemonte is history and memory, art and culture, legend and traditions.

A priceless heritage filled with fascination that meanders between cities, towns, abbeys, castles and fortifications embracing age-old charm, fairy-tale views and landscapes rich in evocative power.

The Cuneo province of Piedmont is an unique area grouping the Alps, rolling hills and hilltop castles.

This area is also called the PROVINCIA GRANDA, which means the big province, because it’s the third largest province in the country.

A land of peaks and verdant valley, intriguing and romantic paths; old medieval routes rich in castles and fortress.

A unique territory out of any mass tourism, ideal destination for those travelers looking for intimacy; natural beauties and most of all ,food & wine escapes.

The historical isolation of a province far from the main roads is nowadays the key to what we might call made in Cuneo: being far away from the most important trades has allowed us to preserve and protect our land and to develop high quality niche produce, offering, within range of a few kilometers, infinite surprises so to wet everybody's taste.

Within the Granda province is the Saluzzo territory a very special “island”.

The town is a real gem, with a perfectly preserved old town dominated by the towering peak of Monviso and a territory rich in castles, abbeys and small stoned mountain villages. Visiting this special “island “ really feels like stepping back in the Middle Ages.
