Italian bread fans should go to Montemagno.
The self styled 'Città del Pane del Basso Monferrato astigiano' has produced as glossy work featuring 12 images of the town by Vittorio Ubertone from Asti.
The images can also be seen on the website of Montemagno below and make fine screen savers.
The hill top town town is located in the province of Asti is noted for two main features; the Church of the Assunta dominating the main piazza and the 14th century castle of Calvi di Bergolo.
The immediate area produces fine wines such as 'Malvasia di Casorzo d'Asti' and 'Ruché di Castagnole Monferrato while food products include asparagus, apples and peaches.
If you want to sample the bread, wine and typical products altogether, head for the Ristorante La Braja in the centre of town.
