Giggi Eoliani carnival biscuit recipe from Sicily

This biscuits recipe has been kindly provided by Hotel Villa Enrica in Lipari, Eolian Island. 

ingredients

1 kg of flour, 150 gr of lard, 6 eggs, a glass of malvasia wine, 30 g di sugar, half liter of mulled wine, olive oil, salt.

making it

Mix the flour with the lard and the yolks of the eggs.

Add the sugar and the malvasia.

Work all the ingredients into a dough leave to rest for about an hour.

Create many small biscuit shape pieces and fry them in hot olive oil.

In a pan pour the mulled wine and boil.

Add the biscuits already fried, mix around to assume some of the liquid and then place each on a tray.

Finally decorate with sugar.
