Follow Hedonistic Hiking into the Gran Paradiso National Park and the Italian Alps towards Mont Blanc.
These are all routes treaded by the Roman armies, medieval pilgrims and Napoleon Bonaparte.

SUNDAY:
Meet in Turin and transfer to Pont St Martin, the gateway to the Aosta Valley. By foot along the ancient route of the Roman armies to the town of Bard. Accommodation in Hotel Ad Gallias for 4 nights. Welcome drink and dinner.
MONDAY:
Drive up the valley to Cervinia and cable car up above the tree line. Walk back through pastures, stopping for picnic lunch and the village of Chamois. Afternoon visit to fortress of Bard.
TUESDAY:
Along the Gressoney valley with its Walser culture and characteristic stone and wood houses. Lunch in mountain refuge. Afternoon visit to castle of Queen Margherite of Savoy.
WEDNESDAY:
The Champorcher valley carved out by glaciers and a hike along the route used by Victor Emmanuel II when hunting in the mountains.
THURSDAY:
Morning visit to producer of Lardo d’Arnad then lunch of local specialities before continuing to Aosta. Afternoon drive to Cogne, the gateway to the Grand Paradiso National Park. Accommodation in family run Hotel Bellevue.
FRIDAY:
Cable car to small trail around Mont Seuc with view of the peak of Gran Paradiso and the Mont Blanc Massif. Barbecue lunch in a baita with opportunity to walk along the pretty Valnontey valley in the afternoon.
SATURDAY:
Walk in village of Gimillan before following the river valley, passing shepherds’ huts and tiny hamlets accessible only by foot. Picnic by a pristine mountain lake before descending once again to Gimillan. Final dinner at Michelin star restaurant. (6.5km/4.1miles)
