Based in Tropea, the one day Calabria cooking classes of In Italy Tours are perfect for anyone wanting a truly authentic introduction to traditional Calabria recipes and cuisine.

You will start learning the secrets with these hands-on cooking lessons located in a family estate of rolling olive groves and vineyards with your hosts Peppe & Vera.

It is a wonderful setting and Peppe has been a chef for over 30 years and the recipes he prepares have been handed down from one generation to the next.

The recipes are no longer even used in the restaurants of Tropea and all the ingredients are sourced from the family farm.

You'll also notice a large portion of land dedicated to his chillie pepper production which plays a major role as you taste his home made Nduja.

COOKING CLASS DETAILS

- Tour of Peppe and Vera's farm, garden, vineyard and olive groves

- Hands-on cooking class with Peppe, Vera and family

- English speaking guide

- Full course feast to share after class including local and DOC wines, dessert and homemade liquors.

 

The cooking classes take place during the day or in the late afternoons.

During the summer months, cooking classes are available in the evenings only and start at 5.30pm.

Price per person is 145 euros and includes transport to and from the premises.

If you are staying outside of Tropea, an extra transportation fee will be required.
