Although just over the River Tiber from Trastevere, Testaccio is very much away from the crowds and is the perfect place to sample authentic local food such as suppli, pastries, homemade pasta, buffalo mozzarella, regional wine and gelato.

Your journey includes tastings from an authentic Roman bakery, “the tomato man” with his 53 varieties of tomatoes, Rome’s most famous gourmet market, one of the best trattorias in the city, an award winning suppli shop and a 100-year old ice cream shop.

Every tour participant also receives a Locals’ Guide to Eating in Rome filled with recommended Rome restaurants, pizzerias, bakeries and gelato shops.
