MORNING FISHING EXCURSION IN TROPEA
Enjoy sailing the crystal, clear waters of the Tyrrhenian sea from the port of Tropea with our local friend and fisherman Francesco and learn to cook local seafood dishes from your day’s catch.
You’ll learn to identify the local fish caught in these waters which play a major role in the cuisine of Calabria’s coast and how to clean and prepare your catch for a wonderful seafood lunch on board.
Day’s schedule
• Meet at the port of Tropea 9.00 am.
• Set sail with Francesco.
• Fishing and cooking instruction.
• Lunch on board with local Calabrian wines included.
• Return to Tropea’s port at approximately 3 pm.

EXCURSION TO THE TOWN OF CARIA
Like a trip back in time, this 1 day tour through Caria offers a visit to an ancient castle once home to nobility, stunning views of the sparkling Tyrrhennian Sea and a homemade Calabrese meal with our friends Maria and Guiseppe on their rustic farm.
The day includes:
• Walking excursion through Caria's countryside
• Tour of the Galluppi Castle and surrounding archaeological sites
• Tour of Maria and Guiseppe's farm and olive groves
• Authentic, home cooked lunch served with local wine
If the season is right, we'll savor Maria's pignata, a signature Calabrian dish made from slow cooked butter beans and prepared just as it was in ancient Italy.
A soap making class with Signora Maria using their home produced extra virgin olive oil can also be arranged in the mornings only.

COOKING CLASSES IN PIZZO CALABRO
Spend an unforgettable cooking lesson in Pizzo Calabro with Chef Caterina who has received high acclaim and commendation for her creative, award-winning cuisine, presenting the region of Calabria and the city of Vibo Valentia.
You will also visit Pizzo with its panoramic views of the Gulf of St. Eufemia and the distant island of Stromboli and enjoy tartufo, the city’s internationally acclaimed gelato.
Class Schedule
• Take a morning shopping tour to local stores, where we’ll learn about fresh local ingredients. You’ll see the preparation of the famous gelato ‘the tartufo’ and stop to devour the rich gelato at a local cafe. You’ll also have the chance to visit Caterina and Antonio’s pasticceria that has been passed down generations and still remains to be a popular stop for coffee amongst the locals.
• After the morning walk, we will return to Caterina’s restaurant where she will teach you how to use fresh, seasonal ingredients to create a delicious Calabrian lunch.
• After class, enjoy your relaxed and exquisite meal at the restaurant complete with Antonio’s selection of local DOC wines.
