Gioia del Colle could not be more central in Puglia and makes a perfect base for a holiday in the region.
Firstly, the town is situated on the hills of the Murgia between Bari and Taranto and therefore the Ionian and Adriatic seas. Rich with historical relics and buildings, they include the convent where the vine which gave origin to Puglia's primitivo wine production grew.
Gioia del Colle also holds a weekly market on Tuesdays and known for its fruit, fish and taralli, and, on the second Sunday of every month, a fine antiques market.
