The Cala Restaurant dining room boasts an elegant glass front with white stucco arches in the heart of the hotel and overlooking the private harbor. The handcrafted Sardinian furnishings and terracotta tile floor set the stage for an unforgettable meal. It is perfect for romantic candle-light dinners in a magic atmosphere, and famous for its simple but superb and light, typical Sardinian and Mediterranean cuisine.
The buffets at lunch and often at dinner are an array of antipasti hard to match.
Ricotta-stuffed squash, Sardinian raw ham, a bevy of cold vegetables and salads, cannelloni stuffed with chopped (not ground) beef and topped with a rich béchamel – and on and on, in a nod to traditional Mediterranean dishes. There are a hundred or so of them to select from before you choose a meat or a fish, which Guardone himself or an assistant will grill for you on an open wood fire.
Two pastry chefs work through the night to help Antonio Vallana, a veteran of thirty-five years at the hotel, produce some sixty desserts – an assortment of Italian cakes, ice creams made on the premises, custards, stewed fruit, and puddings.
The atmosphere is sophisticated charm and dress code is formal. The restaurant is open daily from 18.00-22:30.
From 19.00 to 20.30 every evening, the restaurant has a separate dining area dedicated to children eight years of age or older. The Maître’d will personally attend to any of your children’s special dinner requests.
