Restaurant La Caravella opened in the early Sixties when it took over from Ciro’s bar. The latter was a very famous venue and even mentioned by Simone de Beauvoir in her books.
In summer the restaurant moves outdoors to the typical inner flower filled courtyard pictured below. The courtyard still has its original wells makes a marvellous setting for wedding receptions, dinner parties and any type of banquet or function.
It is especially adapted for business lunches and dinners with coffee breaks in tandem with the meeting room facilities of the hotel. The garden can accommodate 65 guests while the dining room 75 diners.

The dishes served at La Caravella Restaurant reflect the long culinary tradition of Venice and are all typical Venetian.
The classic menu includes 'Saor', marinated sweet and sour sardines with onions, pine kernels and raisins; Spider crab with lemon sauce and extra-virgin olive oil; fish soup, Venetian bigoli all’anatra which is a thick homemade pasta with duck sauce, oven roasted turbot fish with potatoes and olives.
Every year the restaurant sommeliers together with the owners build their wine list. Ask for historical Italian wine producers and labels such as Antinori, Marchesi Incisa della Rocchetta, Avignonesi and Gaja, as well as lesser known names.

Guided Wine Tasting in Restaurant La Caravella
Only for Hotel guests, on every Monday afternoon, and held by an expert Sommelier. They start from 4:30 pm and last about an hour and half.
The wine tasting program foresees a short introduction on Italian wine production, then the tasting of: Prosecco di Valdobbiadene, Soave Classico, Raboso del Piave, Ripasso from Valpolicella, moreover some snacks like Italian ham and cheese.
During the tasting there will be an exchange of impression among participants and Sommelier, at the end our Sommelier will hand in some technical notes on the wines tasted.
Reservation is compulsory, you can directly book online this event at the cost of 28 euro per person using the online booking system
