The 19th century villa Locanda Azzeccagarbugli Restaurant is located in Pietole di Virgilio not far from Mantova. It offers a warm welcome and refined cuisine based on local gatrastronomic traditions, all in the beautifully green setting of this 19th century villa near the Park of the River Mincio.

The menu is a careful selection of products and dishes revisited by the chef. You will be guided on an inspiring gourmet tour through a rich and wide variety of flavours and surprising dishes. Why not try the tasting menu to sample the full range of local cooking.

The cuisine of Mantova lends itslef espeically well to the cooler months along the Val Padana. For this reason it is rich and 'gustoso'. Some typical dishes include 'tortelli di zucca', 'risotto con salamelle', 'maccheroncini con lo stracotto', 'sbrisolona', 'mustard with cheese'. The local salumi and even parmiggiano reggiano cheese cannot be missed.

The restaurant is open on Friday and Saturday evenings, but do telephone for Thursday and Sunday reservations. Staying guests in the bed and breakfast accommodation can also request a Mantovana cooking course which incldes and guided tour of the city, shops and markets.
