L'Antico Forziere near Deruta is a country house and restaurant converted from a medieval farmhouse.

The L'Antico Forziere is located in Deruta, the Umbria town famous worldwide for its art ceramics.

Deruta is also an ideal base from where to discover Assisi, Perugia, Todi and Spoleto and the rest of the Valle Umbra, in particular the Strada del Sagrantino where you can taste and purchase the Sagrantino and Rosso di Montefalco wines.

Its strategic position allows you to reach all the most important towns of the region very quickly - Assisi (15 min), Spello (15 min), Perugia (10 min) & Todi (15 min).

ROOMS AND FACILITIES

Guests stay in three suites with independent entrances offering a choice of six rooms. Each room has a private bathroom, cable tv, phone and is air conditioned.

Dont forget the panoramic swimming pool overlooking the wide Tiber valley. When to Go? Why not combine a stay with the following events:

  • May - Calendimaggio, Assisi; Open wine cantine, Montefalco, Todi.
  • June - Infiorata, Spello.
  • July - Two Worlds festival, Spoleto; Umbriajazz, Perugia.

For children not far from the country house you can visit the“Parco del sole”where there are more than 200 kinds of animals, some of them are at risk of extinction.

Otherwise in 15 minutes you can go to the “Città della Domenica”, park inspired to the fairy tales in the countryside or in 50 minutes you can spend your time at the Activo Park in Scheggino.

The roof garden of the country house is another detail which cannot be understated and also the perfect background for lunch and a candlelight dinner.

WEDDINGS AND EVENTS

If you are looking for an Italian wedding location in Umbria, L'Antico Forziere can also arrange catering for weddings and other special events on site.

Lunches, reception dinners and buffets can all be organised for up to 200 people.

For catholic celebrations,  the Madonna dei Bagni Sanctuary is very close and an English speaking priest can also be arranged.

L’Antico Forziere, Restaurant and Country House Hotel, is a XVII° century farmhouse regarded locally as an important piece of rural history. It is situated in Umbria, the green heart of Italy, near Deruta, the town world-famous for ceramic art, and very close to Assisi, Perugia, Todi and Spoleto.

In their warm manner the Rodella family welcomes guests into this ancient building where huge beams, brick arches and wonderful views all lend a special atmosphere.

Country Inn has two suites, each with its own entrance onto the garden, and seven rooms furnished with care so that comfort and tradition blend perfectly.

Our guests can enjoy pleasant moments of relax in the bright reading room enriched by a big fireplace giving the room a softly warm atmosphere.
