Locanda del Molino Cortona Locanda del Molino Cortona

The Locanda del Molino is a typical charming locanda situated deep in the Tuscany countryside around Cortona. With just 8 romantic rooms and a wonderful rustic restaurant, it is perfect for a quiet getaway dedicated to great wine, great food and relaxation, as well as a base for discovering nearby Umbria.

The locanda is owned by the Baracchi family of the Relais Il Falconiere and what was once an olive pressing mill by the River Esse has been transformed with the same attention to detail, throughout you will be wamred by antique fabrics, four poster beds and country furniture. Each room is air conditioned with a private bathroom with shower or hydromassage.

Look out for the Thesan Suite with its small sitting area and parquet floor. Classed as a four star hotel, Locanda del Molino also has a garden with private swimming pool and all modern comforts expected, eg internet access.

In the restaurant you can enjoy typical Tuscan cuisine such as Chianina beef steak to mixed roasts and hand made pasta. The Restaurant opens a 7pm. On request cooking courses and wine tastings can be arranged. The Molino lends itself especially well to family events, small ceremonies, and private dinners.

Look out for the Bottega, a place to purchase local salami, artisan cheese, home jams and honey and, of course, fine Tuscan wine from the Baracchi Winery. You wine discovery begins in the onsite bar, which used to be the old mill itself, and then on into the cellar.
