MARCH/APRIL - LO SCOPPIO DEL CARRO
Easter Sunday in central Florence is the traditional ‘Scoppio del Carro’. A cart in the form of a dovecote is pulled into Piazza del Duomo by two oxen. It is set alight and starts to twist and turn with light and noise supplied by fireworks. A good harvest and fortune for the city in the year ahead is guaranteed.
APRIL - FLOWERS MARKET EXHIBITION

JULY/AUGUST - PALIO DI SIENA
The most famous of Italy’s traditional events. It’s over in 75 seconds and is argued over for a year. Always takes place on the 2nd July and 16th of August.
OCTOBER - LA CASTAGNA IN FESTA
October Chestnut festival of Mount Amiata Mount in Tuscany. Wine cellars, chestnuts, mushrooms and traditions in the medieval hamlet of Arcidosso only 30 minutes form Montalcino.
